Nearly 10 fire trucks arrived shortly after. The firefighters split into several directions and approached the house, extinguishing the fire in 10 minutes. They broke down the door to get in, but everything was burned down.

5. Big explosion inside Dak Lak police headquarters, 3 people died

The explosion caused a huge shock, shaking dozens of houses along Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Bui Thi Xuan streets... around the headquarters, damaging many items.

6. Floods cause heavy damage in the South Central region

In just the last two months of the year, the central provinces suffered five consecutive heavy rains and floods, leaving 111 people dead and missing, and 121 injured, with Binh Dinh being the worst.

At the online meeting, the Prime Minister sent his condolences to the families of those who died due to floods and storms, shared the difficulties with the Central region, and requested localities to mobilize forces to support areas affected by severe natural disasters, not to leave people homeless, focus on repairing infrastructure, ensuring normal traffic, and preparing conditions for the new winter-spring crop.

The water has not yet completely receded, so the Prime Minister noted that the first thing that localities need to do is respond and rescue promptly to prevent further damage, especially the safety of dams. The Prime Minister also asked localities to focus on saving people, not allowing hunger, thirst, or disease, and to clean up the environment as the water recedes.

"Flood prevention is a condition to test the leadership capacity of localities to see if they are close to the people, creative and resolute. From there, how to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize people's lives," the Prime Minister emphasized.

7. Arrest of subject spreading news about Vietnam changing money

On December 15, the General Department of Security of the Ministry of Public Security arrested Nguyen Xuan Long (34 years old, residing in Dong Nai) and another suspect residing in Lam Dong. These two people are administrators of a website created by a person in the US, spreading false rumors that Vietnam is about to change its currency, causing public confusion.

Previously, fake news appeared on social media about Vietnam preparing to change its currency. The person spreading the fake news posted a picture of the new 50-dong bill and claimed that the money had been printed and transferred from China to Vietnam. In addition, the person spreading the fake news also caused public confusion by calling on people to withdraw money from banks to buy gold and foreign currency reserves.

Immediately afterwards, the State Bank issued a statement confirming that there was no money exchange, that the information about the money exchange was fabricated and had bad intentions; at the same time, it advised people to be vigilant and fight against the above false and fabricated information to avoid economic losses, affecting people's lives and national monetary security.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has also directed the Ministry of Public Security and a number of functional units to find the culprits spreading rumors about currency exchange that affect the investment environment and macro-economy of our country.

8- Vietnam won 6 medals at the International Youth Science Olympiad
