PETA and Ogilvy have teamed up to open a fake fashion store in the middle of Bangkok's busiest shopping mall.
Bangkok advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather has teamed up with animal rights organization PETA to launch a campaign called “Behind the Skin” to change people's indifferent attitudes.
They opened a fashion store in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand and displayed luxury goods like any other normal store. However, hidden inside there was a scary secret.
The panic of customers when looking at the items here.
The insides of those fancy looking purses, bags, and shoes were filled with blood, flesh, and even a still beating fake animal heart.
Leather handbags, leather jackets, and even leather gloves on display contained fake animal parts and blood.
Although they were just fake items, they were enough to make dozens of customers startled and scared, not understanding what was happening. That was an awakening for people to call for limiting the use of items made from animal skin.
At least 440,000 pythons are hunted each year in the forests of Southeast Asia. They are brutally beheaded and sometimes skinned alive.
Whatever as long as they become a fashion item.
Did you know: On average, it takes not just 1 but 4 crocodiles to make a handbag?
