Chinese milk contaminated with high mercury is present in Vietnam
Mercury levels detected in China's Yili milk powder exceeded the permissible limit and are especially dangerous for children.
On June 19, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) announced that after some domestic newspapers reported on the recall of powdered milk products for infants of the Inner Mongolia Yili Group, China (China), because the product contained high levels of mercury, the Department immediately contacted the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China (AQSIQ) for verification.
And, AQSIQ said that it had tested 715 samples of milk powder produced by various companies from November 2011 to May 2012, and found that the milk product for young children with the Quanyou brand of Yili Milk Company, Inner Mongolia, China, contained abnormally high levels of mercury.
