Syria, Iran and Russia hold trilateral talks in Tehran

According to Xinhua News Agency, Press TV (Iran) reported that Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al Moualem arrived in Tehran (Iran) on August 4 to attend three-way talks with host officials and Russian President Vladimir Putin's Special Envoy, Mikhail Bogdanov, who is currently visiting Iran.

On August 4, Mr. Bogdanov had separate talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on regional developments and ways to resolve the conflict in Syria through political means.

Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran would continue consultations with regional countries to seek a "democratic approach" to the crisis in Syria.

Foreign Minister Moualem is also expected to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad-Javad Zarif on August 5 to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria./.
