Syria: IS executes more than 200 people in 9 days

(Baonghean.vn) - Within 9 days since entering Homs province, Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) confirmed that the Islamic State organization IS has killed at least 217 people, including innocent civilians.

OSDH claims it has evidence that IS jihadists executed 67 civilians, including 14 children and 12 women, as well as evidence of the execution of 150 members of the armed forces of the Syrian Damascus regime.

According to Rami Abdel Rahman, director of OSDH, IS not only executes those accused of having been loyal to the regime, but also their entire families, from children to the elderly. Mr. Rami said that most of the executions took place in the city of Palmyra, which IS captured three days ago. Some victims were shot dead, while others were beheaded or killed with knives.

It is known that just a few hours before OSDH released its report, the official Syrian media also reported that IS carried out a "massacre" in Palmyra, killing about 400 people. And most of the victims were women and children.

In its report, OSDH also said that there are about 600 people from the armed forces, pro-government activists and civilians accused of supporting the regime being held by IS.
