Traffic jam due to landslide after heavy rain on National Highway 48C
(Baonghean.vn) - Many roads were eroded, and rising streams swept away many properties and crops of people in many communes in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong (Nghe An) after a night of heavy rain over a large area.

In the early morning of May 4, heavy rain fell over a large area in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong. In the communes of Tam Quang, Yen Thang, Yen Hoa, Yen Tinh, Xieng My, etc., heavy rain caused damage to crops and houses of local people.
Highway 48C section through Xop Khau village, Yen Thang commune suffered a serious landslide, causing local traffic congestion. The only road from Highway 48C to Xieng My commune suffered a landslide, completely isolating the commune center and the inner villages from the outside area. The work of cadres, teachers and people in this area was completely disrupted.

In Pa Khom village, Yen Tinh commune, the sudden rise in stream water swept away some local generators. Many temporary bridges across the stream were washed away.
In Tam Quang commune, many rice fields of Bai So villagers were deeply flooded.

Mr. Lo Kham Kha - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuong Duong district said that the district People's Committee has directed grassroots officials to monitor and count the damage. At the same time, the district has directed localities to promptly overcome the damage and notify people to have plans to prevent and cope with natural disasters because the weather is still quite complicated.
