The world's smallest sculpture
A sculpture depicting a human form smaller than a strand of hair was created using 3D printing and multi-photon lithography technology.

The sculpture, which is in the shape of a woman, is so small that it is invisible to the naked eye and can only be observed with a high-resolution electron microscope. According to Gizmag, this is the smallest sculpture ever created.
The sculpture measures 20 x 80 x 100 micrometers and is the work of artist Jonty Hurwitz, combining 3D nanoprinting technology and multi-photon (in this case, two-photon) lithography.
With this method, an object is shaped by a laser in a block of light-sensitive material such as a monomer or gel-like polymer, and the excess is then removed, leaving the finished work in solid form.
During the design, the image of a woman was captured in a studio with more than 200 professional cameras from different angles and processed by computer.
"We live in an age where the unthinkable can become a reality. 6,000 years ago, people painted images of animals in caves and on rocks. Today, we can go further. Nanoscale sculpture technology is a common achievement of all mankind," said Hurwitz.
