The work "Truyen Kieu" officially sets a world record
The Vietnam Record Organization has just announced that on December 2, the World Record Union officially sent a document confirming a new world record for the work "Truyen Kieu" by the great poet Nguyen Du.
Accordingly, “The Tale of Kieu” officially became “The literary work that created the most national records.”

This record was successfully nominated by the Vietnam Record Organization in the past and was established by the World Record Union Council on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Great Poet Nguyen Du and the ceremony to honor the World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Du taking place worldwide.
The World Record Union Council assessed: "The Tale of Kieu" by Nguyen Du (17651-1820) consisting of 3,254 six-eight verses is a literary masterpiece. This work has conquered generations of the public for over 200 years.
“The Tale of Kieu” has also been translated into more than 20 different languages around the world such as English, Russian, French… with over 35 translations.
It can be seen that Vietnam's "Truyen Kieu" has gone beyond the borders to reach readers in many countries around the world. With "Truyen Kieu," the great poet Nguyen Du was honored as a World Cultural Celebrity.
The records of "Truyen Kieu" are expressed in various forms such as books, newspapers, translations, sculptures, silk paintings, choirs, calligraphy, theater, etc. All have contributed to honoring the cultural features that "Truyen Kieu" brings to the cultural and spiritual life of the people in Vietnam.
With those values, the World Record Union Council has officially established the world record for "Truyen Kieu" as "The literary work that created the most national records" and congratulated the Vietnam Record Organization and the Management Board of Nguyen Du Relic - Ha Tinh for officially owning the world record granted by the World Record Union.

It is expected that this world record will be awarded by the World Record Union at the 31st Record Holders Reunion (March 2016) in Vietnam.
