Railway accident, 2 dead, 1 critical

The above mentioned railway traffic accident occurred at 5:50 p.m. on November 21, 2014, on Thong Nhat railway, at km 241 + 100 in Quynh Thien ward - Hoang Mai town (Nghe An), when freight train No. 233 was traveling in the Truong Lam - Hoang Mai area, when it reached the local level crossing, it hit a motorbike with license plate 37P6-8572 crossing the railway, dragging the motorbike more than 100m, 2 people died on the spot, a child was in critical condition.

The victim was later identified as Ho Thi Bon, born in 1971, living in Tan Long hamlet - Quynh Lap commune - Hoang Mai town; another victim on the motorbike died (identity not yet determined); Tran Thi Men, born in 2006, Bon's daughter, was seriously injured in critical condition and is being treated at Quynh Lap hospital. The freight train had to make an emergency stop with the Hoang Mai town police to investigate the cause of the accident and hand over the body to the victim's family.
