Serious traffic accident, 3 people died, 35 people injured

(Baonghean.vn) -In the dark, rainy night, a passenger bus carrying 45 Buddhists was going downhill when it suddenly plunged into a ravine, killing 3 people and injuring many others who are being treated at Nghe An 115 Hospital.

At around 4:15 a.m. this morning, August 23, the passenger bus with license plate number 29B-036.29 carrying a group of Buddhist followers from Hanoi on their way to attend a memorial service and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs in Quang Tri plunged into a deep abyss at Truong Ven slope (Dien Lam commune, Dien Chau, Nghe An).

Some people said that while they were sleeping, they heard a loud crash. When they ran out, they saw the bus lying in a deep ravine. People were calling for help from inside the bus. Immediately afterwards, people broke the glass doors to get the victims out and took them to Nghe An 115 Hospital for emergency treatment. Some rescue workers said that two people died on the spot and one died on the way to the hospital. At the scene, the bus was overturned in the ravine.

Leaders of the Department of Transport and Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province visited and encouraged the victims.

On the morning of August 23, leaders of the Department of Transport and the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province visited Nghe An 115 Hospital to visit and encourage 35 victims who are being treated, and provided 1 million VND to the deceased and 500,000 VND to the injured.

Quynh Luu District Police are currently examining the scene and investigating the cause of the accident.
