According to witnesses on board, at the time, fishing boat NA 99668, captained by Ha Ngoc Hung from Tien My village, Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu), and 10 crew members were removing fishing nets when suddenly a big wave came, causing 3 fishermen to fall into the sea. Two were thrown out of the net and managed to swim to safety, while fisherman Le Van Quyet (born in 1982, residing in Tien My village, Tien Thuy commune) was crushed by the net and drowned.

Relatives took the victim's body home for funeral arrangements.

Upon discovering the incident, some fishermen on the boat quickly swam into the sea to remove the net and bring Mr. Quyet to shore. However, due to the large area of ​​the net, the rescue work was difficult and by the time they found Mr. Quyet, he was already dead.

At 3:30 p.m. on October 12, fishing boat NA 99668 reached shore, and the victim's body was brought home by relatives for burial./.
