Türkiye's Dogan news agency said the plane that crashed was a Turkish plane rented from Russia to fight forest fires. The plane was piloted by a crew of both Russians and Turks.

According to the source, the accident occurred when there were 5 people on board and no one survived. The Ministry of Forests and Water of Türkiye also said that the plane crashed in Koycegiz district, Mugla province while participating in extinguishing forest fires in this area.
