Train accident, old woman died

(Baonghean.vn) -A motorbike carrying an 80-year-old woman was hit by a train while crossing the railway without looking, causing the victim to die on the spot.

The accident occurred on the afternoon of December 15 on the North-South railway section in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district. At that time, Ms. Hoang Thi Dung (80 years old), residing in Xuan Lam commune, Nam Dan district, was being transported by relatives from her house in Nghi Long commune to National Highway 1A to return to Nam Dan district.

While crossing the railway crossing, due to lack of observation, the motorbike carrying Mr. Dung was hit by the SE5 train heading from Hanoi to Vinh, knocking the motorbike off the road and both people were thrown far away. The accident caused Mr. Dung to die on the spot, and the motorbike driver was seriously injured.

After the accident, train SE5 stopped for handling. This is a residential level crossing where many railway accidents have occurred.
