Why was Zelensky's inauguration delayed?
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” party Yuriy Pavlenko believes that the inauguration procedure of the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky was delayed due to the fact that the current head of state, Petro Poroshenko, could not “accept the fact that he lost”, he “wanted to sit longer”.

“It is no secret to anyone why the inauguration procedure was delayed. On the one hand, the incumbent president cannot accept the fact that he lost, he wants to stay in office longer… On the other hand, the current government and parliament are afraid of early parliamentary elections,” Pavlenko said on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, broadcast by the “112. Ukraine” TV channel.
He noted that it would be logical for Zelensky to completely reset parliament after the inauguration, since the Ukrainian people have “shown a red card” and expressed distrust not only of the current president, but also of parliament.
Previously, seven decrees on Zelensky's inauguration were registered in the Rada: May 17, 19, 20 and 26, as well as June 1. Zelensky himself insisted on holding it on May 19. The Rada committee plans to consider the resolution on the inauguration of the new president on Wednesday.
