While bathing in a fish pond, a child in Chau Quang (Quy Hop) drowned.

(Baonghean.vn) -At 2:00 p.m. on October 13, at the fish pond of Mr. Vi Van Luong (Phay hamlet, Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop), a drowning incident occurred, causing the death of a young child.

A local resident said: Ha Minh Vu (born in 2003, son of Tran Anh Tuan and Nguyen Thi Hoa, Dong Nai hamlet, Chau Quang commune) and his 4-year-old sister and a friend from the same hamlet went to play in the fish pond of Vi Van Luong's family. Vu and his boyfriend went into the pond to bathe. Because he did not know how to swim, Vu slipped and fell into the deep water and drowned. Although his family took him to the hospital for emergency treatment, he died at Quy Hop Hospital because it was too late.

Locals here added: For a long time, many children in and out of the neighborhood often come to this area to play and swim in Mr. Luong's fish pond. This is the first drowning incident to occur at this fish pond.

I hope that the local authorities as well as Mr. Luong (the owner of the fish pond) need to put up signs prohibiting and warning people (especially children) about the dangers of swimming in ponds and lakes, to avoid the recurrence of this heartbreaking disaster in this place.
