Temporarily suspend the duties of National Assembly delegate Hoang Thi Thuy Lan
Pursuant to the provisions of law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1000/NQ-UBTVQH15 temporarily suspending the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.
On March 8, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong informed about the permission to prosecute, temporarily detain, search the residence and workplace, and temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy of the 15th tenure against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan.
Accordingly, on March 7, 2024, based on the provisions of law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1000/NQ-UBTVQH15 agreeing to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of law; at the same time, temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.
Also on the afternoon of March 8, Lieutenant General To An Xo - Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security said that expanding the investigation into the case that occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency has prosecuted 9 more suspects, including Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee Hoang Thi Thuy Lan and former Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Cao Khoa.
Expanding the investigation of the case of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences" committed by Nguyen Van Hau and accomplices at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Phuc Son Group), Thang Long Investment, Trade and Real Estate Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Thang Long Real Estate Company) and related units according to Decision on initiating criminal proceedings No. 16/QD-CSKT-P7 dated February 26, 2024; based on the statements of Nguyen Van Hau, the defendants, related subjects, investigation documents verified in the 3 provinces of Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, Vinh Long and related units; In order to implement relevant regulations of the Party and State, on March 7, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security decided to: Initiate additional prosecution of the case of "Receiving bribes", "Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences", "Taking advantage of influence over people with positions and powers for personal gain" occurring in Vinh Phuc province, Quang Ngai province, Vinh Long province and related units.
At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted, arrested and searched: Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province; Le Duy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, delegate of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province, for the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code...
On March 8, 2024, after the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the above Decisions and Orders, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency organized the implementation in accordance with legal provisions.
