Truck driver sentenced to 3 months in detention for running over and killing someone and then fleeing
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of September 18, Lieutenant Colonel Le Khac Thuyet - Chief of Nam Dan District Police said that he had just signed a decision to temporarily detain driver Lu Dinh Quyet (born in 1983, from Thanh Hoa, currently residing in Hamlet 11, Hong Long Commune, Nam Dan) for 3 months for the act of "Violating regulations on driving road vehicles" to serve the investigation.
At around 3:00 p.m. on September 16, people discovered that Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 1943, residing in Hamlet 4, Hong Long Commune, Nam Dan) had died on the road. The cause was determined to be a traffic accident. At the time Ms. Tam's body was discovered, it was raining heavily and there were no vehicles on the road.
Through investigation, examination of the scene and many other professional measures, Nam Dan District Police have determined that at the time of the accident, the truck with license plate 37C-016.72 of Nam Dan Sand Mining Company, driven by driver Lu Dinh Quyet, was present at the scene. Subject Lu Dinh Quyet was invited to the investigation agency to clarify a number of related issues.
Although Lu Dinh Quyet always insisted that he did not cause the accident that led to the death of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam. However, faced with the solid evidence collected by the investigation agency, Lu Dinh Quyet bowed his head and admitted his guilt and confessed: on the afternoon of September 16, seeing that it was raining too hard, afraid that all the sand would be washed away, Quyet drove to the dock to increase the sand, while reversing the car, due to the rain and lack of observation, Quyet's car ran over Ms. Tam who had just returned from the market in the back. Hearing the loud crash, Quyet discovered that the victim was dead, and there was no one at the scene, so Quyet drove away to escape the crime.
