Detained couple for packaging and selling fake MSG of major brands
The couple Chinh and Thao bought MSG from China, then used packaging with big brand names to package and sell it on the market.
On the afternoon of January 31, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Hanoi City Police) announced that Chuong My District Police had detained Trinh Trong Chinh (56 years old), residing in Village 2, Quang Bi Commune (Chuong My) and his wife Trinh Thi Thao (55 years old) to investigate and clarify the act of producing fake food products according to Article 193 of the Penal Code.

Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on January 29, detectives from Team 3, Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Hanoi City Police) discovered and coordinated with Chuong My District Police to catch Trinh Trong Chinh and Trinh Thi Thao red-handed trading in counterfeit goods such as food, food additives, MSG under the brands Ajinomoto, Miwon... at the store, address 130, village 1, Quang Bi commune.
At the police station, Chinh and Thao confessed that they bought MSG ingredients from China and bought packaging and edge-sealing machines to package and sell on the market.

Searching Chinh and Thao's stores, the task force seized 1 electric blue nylon edge crimping machine; 1 5kg scale; 1 plastic ladle; more than 200kg of MSG packaged in Ajinomoto and Miwon branded bags (100g, 400g, 454g, 1kg and 2kg).
In addition, the authorities also seized hundreds of unpackaged bags bearing the names of the two above-mentioned MSG brands and 12 25kg sacks of MSG ingredients with foreign writing.
