Criminal detention of 2 subjects who stole a motorbike and stabbed a police officer seriously injured

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 15, Colonel Cao Tien Mai (Head of Nam Dan District Police, Nghe An) said that they are temporarily detaining Le Quoc Tuan (26 years old) and Le Hong Son (17 years old), both residing in Son Tra Commune, Huong Son District (Ha Tinh) to investigate the crime of "Theft of property". The investigation agency is continuing to consider the act of resisting people on duty.

Captain Nguyen Duc Kien (deputy captain of the criminal police team of Nam Dan district) said that on the morning of December 14, the criminal police team of Nam Dan district police, consisting of 4 officers, led by Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Hao (26 years old), conducted patrols and controls in the area to suppress criminals.

At 9:30 a.m., the task force arrived at Nam Cuong commune, Nam Dan district and discovered two young men stealing a Wawe motorbike parked at the gate of a resident's house. One of the men sat on the motorbike on the side of the road to keep watch, while the other was breaking the lock and taking the motorbike out. Seeing the police, the men ran away, and Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Hao and his teammates chased after them.

After about half a kilometer, Lieutenant Hao's task force caught up with the suspect. Being surrounded and captured, Le Quoc Tuan pulled out a motorbike lock breaker from his pocket and stabbed Lieutenant Hao, injuring him in the abdomen. Despite being seriously injured by the perpetrator, Lieutenant Hao still tried to help his teammates successfully subdue the perpetrator.

While surrounding and arresting Tuan, the remaining accomplice sped up his motorbike and fled the scene. However, based on Tuan's testimony, two hours later the police urgently arrested Le Hong Son (17 years old), who was hiding at his private home in Son Tra commune, Huong Son, Ha Tinh.

Searching the motorbike that Son used to commit the crime, the police seized a 40cm long knife and motorbike theft tools.

Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Hao is currently being treated for his abdominal wound at Nghe An General Hospital. Nam Dan District Police are continuing to consolidate the case file to initiate criminal proceedings and prosecute the accused.
