Through teacher Nguyen Van An, Secretary of the Youth Union of Do Luong 3 High School, we learned that on October 4, two students, Ho Sy Tien and Nguyen Cong Luong (students of Do Luong 3 High School), on their way from home to school, passing through Ru Ruong, picked up 3 packages of money scattered on the side of the road. Of which, 1 package contained 500,000 VND, 1 package contained 50,000 VND and 1 package contained 100,000 VND, with a total value of 30 million VND. Without hesitation, the students agreed to "return it to the person who dropped it". Not knowing who the money belonged to, and it was almost time for school, the three decided to let Ho Sy Tien keep all the money, and when they got to school, they would report to the Board of Directors and the Commune Police. As soon as they arrived at the gate of Do Luong 3 High School, there were 2 people asking the students about the lost money. Tien and Luong immediately confirmed that they had just picked up the money. The owner of the property, after providing evidence to verify that it was his money, was returned in full by the children.

To thank the children, Nguyen Van Phuong took out 500,000 VND from his money bag to give as a thank you, but both Tien and Luong firmly refused. Nguyen Cong Luong said: “When we found the money, we didn’t know who it belonged to, but the first thing we thought of was to find a way to return it to the person who lost it. It was their sweat and tears, they had to save up to get it, who knows, it could be their entire family’s fortune. They must have felt very heartbroken when they lost it…!” Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong said: “That morning, I collected money and borrowed money from friends to buy a buffalo. I dropped it halfway on the road and only realized it had been lost after a long distance. At that moment, my spirit overcame my spirit, I was both worried and sad, and had no hope of finding the money. I asked someone to take me to the school gate to ask around, hoping that some student would pick it up and return some or all of it to me. It was a blessing for my family that the students did not hesitate to return all of the money. I truly thank them, their families, and the school for raising them to be good children, good students, honest and kind people...”

Born into a family with a father who was a soldier and a mother who worked in agriculture, Ho Sy Tien was very studious and hard-working since childhood. During his years at Thuong Son Primary School, Tien was an excellent student at school and in the district. In junior high school, Tien was always in the top of the school in terms of scores, and currently Tien is a member of the provincial team for excellent students in Physics and Information Technology. Not only is he a good student and willing to help his friends, Tien is also loved for his gentleness and honesty. At home, his mother runs a grocery store, and after school hours he watches the store for his mother. Sometimes customers pay extra, sometimes a few thousand, sometimes hundreds of thousands, Tien always returns it to the customers. In class, when he finds notebooks, books, or tuition money that his friends drop, Tien always reports it to the homeroom teacher to return it to them.

As for Nguyen Cong Luong, born into a farming family, all household expenses depended on a few acres of contracted rice fields, life was quite difficult. However, when he found a large sum of money, Luong agreed with his friends to find the person who lost it and return it. When people asked him, Luong explained clearly: "Thirty million or three hundred million is not my money, it is not my own money, so returning it to its owner is the natural thing to do. Moreover, Uncle Phuong is a local resident, and his family is in difficult circumstances. For me, it is just a very normal thing to do, the right thing to do." When they learned that their son found a large sum of money and returned it to the person who lost it, Luong's parents were very proud of their son. “Raising and educating children, we only hope that they will grow up to be good people. Since childhood, the family has always focused on training and educating their children about honesty. As a parent, I am proud of my child's maturity, thoughtfulness and honesty. That is worth the effort of raising them,” said Nguyen Cong Nam, Luong's father.

Ms. Truong Minh, Vice Principal of Do Luong 3 High School - where Tien and Luong are studying, said: "The actions of Ho Sy Tien and Nguyen Cong Luong are shining examples for other students to follow. With the viewpoint that "a good deed, no matter how small, needs to be multiplied", every time they do a good deed, they are honored by the school, in front of the whole school, recorded in the tradition list, commended in meetings and conferences to motivate and encourage them, thereby influencing the awareness of other students...".
