(Baonghean) - They are teachers who are passionate about teaching and Team activities. They always try to find good ways and useful activities to attract children to participate in Team activities. On the occasion of the founding day of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, we would like to introduce some typical Team leaders from different regions...

Use Facebook to gather team members

With a gentle face and a lovely smile, foreign language teacher Pham Kieu Dung has been a team leader for nearly 8 years and is loved by students of Hong Son Secondary School (Vinh City), who consider him as their brother and friend. This year, 34 years old, teacher Dung has been a teacher in the border district of Ky Son for 5 years. In 2008, he returned to Vinh City, was accepted to teach at Hong Son Secondary School and was assigned to be the team leader.

When starting work, the young teacher saw the difficulties and confusion: the team members are at an age where they often have changes in their psychology and physiology, and the team leader must clearly understand these things to be able to complete the task. While working and supplementing his knowledge about age psychology and the Youth Union's professional skills, teacher Dung gradually matured in the role of a part-time Team Leader. He always sticks to the school and class, considering the students as his younger brothers to understand their thoughts and aspirations before organizing extracurricular activities. The Team Leader is also the one who regularly closely follows and grasps the changes in the psychology, thoughts, and actions of the young students to help the homeroom teachers make more appropriate adjustments. It is the enthusiasm, dynamism, and dedication to the team members that helped Mr. Dung succeed. Many times, he was recognized as an excellent Team Leader. Hong Son Secondary School was also highly appreciated by the City Team Council for its youth and team movements, and for many consecutive years was an excellent team at the city level.

He confided: "One of the secrets to my success is the combination of expertise and the Youth Union and Young Pioneers movement". Therefore, along with perfecting his professional skills in Youth Union, Young Pioneers work, teacher Dung has gradually affirmed himself with titles such as excellent teacher of English at the city and provincial levels. In particular, 2 years ago, when he saw the strong influence of Facebook, he boldly proposed to the school's Board of Directors to organize a Facebook page contest for the teams. This new idea was approved by the school's leaders and immediately attracted a large number of team members to participate. A Group called "Hong Son Secondary School's Handsome Boys and Pretty Girls Association" was established, a place for students in the school to exchange, make friends, share learning experiences and invisibly contribute to connecting students in the whole school. Something that many previous Youth Union and Young Pioneers activities have not been able to do. Currently, the Group has 418 members participating. On anniversaries, the team organizes a Facebook page between the teams, creating a vibrant, exciting and unique competition movement. This is also where teachers and students can get closer to each other after school hours.

“With the explosion of information technology and social networking sites today, if the General Leader of the Youth Union stays out of the picture, it will be very difficult to gather the children. We must consider Facebook as a tool, a means to quickly grasp the thoughts, feelings and changes in the children's age group to quickly orient them, together with homeroom teachers and parents, to make timely adjustments. At that time, not only will the Youth Union, Association and Youth Union movements be effective, but the professional matters of part-time teachers will also be much more favorable,” said teacher Pham Kieu Dung.

Teacher Ho Van Giang confided: To attract students to participate enthusiastically in the school's movements and activities, first of all, the person in charge must understand the students' psychology, be a good example, always stand side by side with the students and wholeheartedly guide them. For shy students, regularly organize games to guide them into collective activities to make them more courageous. In addition, the teacher constantly encourages students to study hard, especially the problem students, helping many students to excel in their studies.

By grasping information and referring to the experiences of previous generations of teachers, Mr. Giang has had many initiatives in the work of the Team, effectively applying them in the actual activities of the Team. Typical examples include: organizing well extracurricular activities to talk about traditions, dramatizing team activities, folk games, organizing pilgrimages to red addresses for outstanding team members and children every year. In addition, humanitarian and charitable activities such as: Donating old textbooks to poor friends, "Winter coats for friends", "Contributing stones to build Truong Sa" ... are always given attention. In addition, maintaining well the regular activities such as physical education with music, singing and dancing in the school yard, Team activities, and Children's Stars according to the theme. Especially, mobilizing team members to carry out small-scale planning movements, from this initiative, teachers and students of Cau Giat Town Primary School have done many meaningful things. Every year, from collecting scrap paper, the team has contributed a small amount of money to visit families of war invalids and martyrs; and awarded scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties to study well. Although the amount of money is not much, the "Small Plan" movement has educated students in the spirit of saving, protecting the environment and forming a good personality, knowing how to contribute to the community.

Thanks to that, for many consecutive years, the Cau Giat Town Primary School Union has won high awards and the title of Strong Union. Mr. Giang personally has also achieved many high achievements such as: In the 2006 - 2015 school year, he was awarded the badge "National Excellent Team Leader", won the Second Prize for Teachers, Team Leader at the provincial level. In the 2010 - 2011 school year, he was awarded the "For the Young Generation" Medal by the Central Youth Union. For many consecutive years, he has been an excellent teacher and Team Leader, awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Youth Union, Provincial Youth Union, and District Youth Union...

Never "out of fire"...

Coming to Tuong Duong Town Secondary School, what surprises everyone is that the discipline in this school is maintained quite well: There is no situation of students being late, even when there are no teachers in class, students still sit quietly to review their lessons. In the first 15 minutes of self-management, each class has its own activities suitable to the needs and strengths of each class. Therefore, students are excited and consider Team activities as an indispensable need. The art and sports movements or the Team movements "Thousands of good deeds", "When drinking water, remember the source", "Young people do small things" are all implemented by the teams with creativity and unique colors.

For example, in the "Thousand Good Deeds" movement, the 9th grade class chose to support the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and homeless Youth Volunteers in the area. The 8th grade class was guided to choose to help poor friends overcome difficulties. The team members participated in the movement with both joy and excitement. Therefore, over the past 5 years, Tuong Duong Town Secondary School has always been at the forefront of the movements "Friendly Arms", "Helping Friends Overcome Difficulties", "Helping Friends Go to School - Together Towards the Future". These achievements were thanks to the thoughtful and scientific organization of Ms. Luong Thi Luyen, the Team Leader.

To create a spread and set an example for students to follow, the team leader must be a strict guide and instructor, but at the same time, a friend of the students. She always listens and shares with the students all the difficulties in studying, training and in life. Therefore, for the students, she is both a teacher that they respect and an older sister, a mother that they can share and confide in. She confided that in order for her words and commands to be effective, she must first connect and create close coordination between organizations in the house to receive comprehensive and synchronous support in the management of discipline and activities of students.

Simply a movement, if the homeroom teachers do not convince themselves, they will not be enthusiastic in urging and directing the students. Thus, the movement will not create a spread and will not achieve the desired results. Or, if the plan for the year, the action month is not arranged scientifically and in detail and is not really suitable for the students, it will not receive the approval of the Board of Directors. And of course, in front of the teachers, they will not have prestige. Thanks to the connection between organizations in the school and the support of the Board of Directors, 100% of the teachers in charge of the teams are consulted and trained to improve their professional skills, so the activities take place vibrantly, orderly and in depth.

According to her, being a Team Leader is a special and difficult "profession", requiring many skills, but at the same time, having to make sacrifices. Therefore, a good Team Leader must first of all be passionate about the profession. Passionate about the profession, sacrificing for the profession, but she is the one who spends her remaining precious time on social work. For many years, she and her family have regularly helped the family of 1/4 war invalid Lo Dinh Du in Huoi Xen village, Yen Na commune; helped and supported Vi Van Cong's family in Mac village, Thach Giam commune with livestock and crops, and provided money to dig ponds and raise fish to develop the family economy in the form of a farm. Now that model has developed, Vi Van Cong's family has escaped poverty. These activities have helped her improve her professional skills, and at the same time spread the example of a Team Leader who is "both red and professional". Although she has passed the age of 40, teacher Luong Thi Luyen has never felt that she has lost her fire and passion for her job...
