Swimming in the canal, a student drowned

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (June 28), Mr. Ngo Van Tai - Chief of Police of Quynh Ba Commune (Quynh Luu, Nghe An) said that an accident had just occurred in the commune while swimming in the river, causing a student who had just passed the 10th grade exam with excellent results to tragically drown.

The victim was Dang Ba Minh Quang (15 years old), son of Nguyen Thi Thuy (40 years old), residing in Hamlet 3, Quynh Ba (Quynh Luu, Nghe An).

Before that, at about 5:30 pm yesterday (June 27), Quang and some friends invited each other to go to Binh Son I canal, the border between Quynh Ba and Quynh Hung communes, to swim. This canal is very wide and deep, about 20 meters wide and 2 meters deep, so while swimming, Quang was exhausted and drowned. Seeing this, Quang's friends panicked and ran back to the village to call for help.

Upon receiving the news, the police force of Quynh Ba commune quickly went to the scene to rescue Quang, however, due to the deep water and wide canal, searching for the victim's body was very difficult. It was not until about 8:00 p.m. that the victim's body was found.

It is known that the victim's family is in very difficult circumstances, his parents are divorced, Quang is the only child living with his mother while his father is working far away.
