(Baonghean) -Born in Ngoc Son commune, Do Luong district, Le Ngoc Lan had a desire to become a teacher since childhood. In 1995, after graduating from Nghe An Mountainous Pedagogical College, he was assigned to teach at Muong Xen Town Primary School (Ky Son) and in the 2012-2013 school year, Mr. Lan was assigned to take on the position of Principal of Chieu Luu 2 Primary School.

Chieu Luu 2 Primary School currently has 21 classes, belonging to 4 school locations (including La Ngan, Luu Hoa, Tat Thoong, Xieng Thu and Luu Thang). The school has 34 teachers, staff and managers with 326 students, mainly Thai and Kho Mu ethnic groups. Starting to work as a manager in remote and extremely disadvantaged schools, he determined that the important task was to "revive" the spirit of the teaching staff by all means, arouse in them the passion and dedication so that they would stick with the profession.

Teacher Le Ngoc Lan comes to students at the remote school.

In the beginning, with many difficulties and problems, "schools were not like schools, classes were not like classes", the teacher, the principal and the organizations in the school struggled to find solutions. The first task that he took on was to advise the Party Committee, the government of Chieu Luu commune and the parents of students to agree on a plan to renovate the schools, especially the Luu Thang and Xieng Thu schools, which were far from the center and where the people's lives were the most difficult. To ensure the lives of teachers and staff, he directed the school's Trade Union to "increase production", become self-sufficient in food, grow vegetables, raise fish, raise chickens, geese, ducks... Thanks to that, in just a short time, with the determination of the school and the support of teachers, the lives of teachers and staff at the school have been improved.

Along with that, he has focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning, organizing tutoring for weak students. Principal Le Ngoc Lan has always been exemplary, taking the lead in innovating teaching methods for colleagues to learn from; actively and pioneering in mobilizing drop-out students to return to school, building a close relationship between the school and local authorities, organizations and parents' associations. Thanks to that, the quality of teaching and learning at Chieu Luu 2 Primary School has clearly changed.

Not only making efforts in management, teacher Le Ngoc Lan also researches and writes about innovative experiences to serve teaching. Up to now, he has had 4 innovative experiences of level 4, winning the provincial encouragement prize on the topic "Teaching Vietnamese to ethnic minority students". These projects and topics have become practical lessons for schools and "documents" for schools in the district to apply in teaching.

Commenting on teacher Le Ngoc Lan, Mr. Luong Thinh Vuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune shared: "Teacher Le Ngoc Lan has made many contributions to the school and the locality, especially in ensuring facilities and taking care of students' lives. The Party Committee and the commune government highly appreciate and hope that he will have more time to work with the locality."
