Candidates' psychology before the 10th grade entrance exam in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 5, at 64 testing locations in Nghe An province, candidates came to see their registration numbers and complete procedures to take the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2018-2019 school year.
This is the first year Nghe An has applied the combined test in the 10th grade entrance exam, so before the "G" hour, the candidates are quite nervous.
At the testing sites at Huynh Thuc Khang High School and Le Viet Thuat High School (Vinh City), besides the candidates coming to check their registration numbers and exam room layout, many parents also came to learn about this year's exam.

Although the process was quite simple, after checking the information, many candidates lingered at the exam sites to discuss. Talking about this year's exam, candidate Thao Dan (Nghi Duc Secondary School, Vinh City) said: "I find this year's exam a bit overloaded, especially the Combined subject. For example, Biology and Civic Education, although each subject only has 15 questions, we still have to study the entire program in the textbook, not skipping any part because the exam questions are in the entire 9th grade program."
Evaluating this year’s exam, most candidates also confirmed that it is difficult to get a “place” in a public school. Specifically, at the end of the 2017-2018 school year, Nghe An province had about 43,000 ninth graders. Of these, nearly 9,000 candidates with average or above average academic performance were directed to the schools.
Of the remaining 35,000 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam, but there are only 32,000 spots available for public and non-public high schools. Thus, there will be nearly 3,000 candidates who will not pass the entrance exam.
