Confessions of "soldiers" of DK1 Platform
(Baonghean) - Celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, officers and soldiers on 15 DK1 platforms, from Ba Ke shoal to Ca Mau cape, all turned towards the Motherland with the determination to "Keep a steady hand on the gun, stick to the sea to maintain the sovereignty of the Fatherland". Nghe An Newspaper would like to introduce some confidences of the "platform soldiers".
- Major Le Xuan Nam, Commander of Huyen Tran DK1/7 Platform: 24 years of military service, 20 years of continuous work at DK1 Platform, I understand the mission, responsibility, and great honor of a soldier guarding the sea and sky at the front line of the Fatherland. If anyone asks, is it hard for soldiers on the platform? That is a given, but as a soldier, there is nothing more beautiful than holding a gun on the front line. That is the mission and pride. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of our Army's birth, fighting, and growth, I understand even more the noble meaning of a Navy soldier guarding islands and protecting the sea in peacetime.
- Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Minh Khoa, Political Commissar of DK1/15 Platform: Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army is an opportunity for each of us, officers and soldiers, to demonstrate our steadfast political will and love for the Fatherland.Difficulties and hardships are inevitable for the soldiers on the rig, but we see it as a great responsibility and a source of pride. To be worthy of the trust of the Party and the people, the officers and soldiers of the DK1 rig are determined to firmly protect the assigned sea area; as long as there are people, there will be rigs, there will be seas, there will be the Fatherland.

Although the sea is rough and the waves are big these days, there are still foreign ships operating illegally in the sea. In order for the mainland to have complete joy in celebrating the birthday of our Army, we raise our vigilance, observe the sea, detect targets from afar, and handle all situations well. Officers and soldiers are reassured, turn to the mainland and the joy just keeps multiplying...
- Major Nguyen Van Hien, Commander of DK1/2 Platform: In the spirit of "Training in the morning, sports in the afternoon, singing at its best", we organized a competition for unarmed team command, physical exercises, training in rescue plans for fishermen, table tennis and chess competitions, maintaining strict shifts and crews, and being ready for combat. The platform also published a wall newspaper "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Army", which was the most practical thing to do to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our Army. Officers and soldiers are always proud of this important day.

- Corporal Phan Ri, gunner of DK1/2 Platform: As a young soldier on duty for the first time at DK1 Platform, I feel very proud. In the early days here, I missed the mainland very much, but now I am used to it. Hearing stories about the martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland, I understand more and more the responsibility of my soldier on the platform. The most beautiful life of a soldier on the platform is to guard the sea and protect the islands for the peace of the mainland. If the Fatherland needs me, I am ready to contribute and sacrifice.
