Knife attack on train in Germany leaves 9 dead and injured
Two people were killed and seven others injured after a knife attack on a train in Germany.
The attack took place in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, which borders Denmark, on a train traveling from Kiel to Hamburg at around 3 p.m. local time on January 25. Police arrested the suspect, a 33-year-old man, at a small station in the town of Brokstedt. He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
According to DW, among the 7 injured victims, 3 were seriously injured, and 4 others were slightly injured.

Ms. Sabine Sütterlin-Waack - Interior Minister of Schleswig-Holstein state said that the suspect is a stateless person from the Palestinian territories.
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said on Twitter that the suspect's background was being investigated and was now a top priority.
According to police, the attack occurred as the train, carrying about 70 passengers, was approaching Brokstedt station. Passengers on board tried to restrain the suspect before police arrived.
After about 2 hours of the attack, information about the motive and reason for the attack is still unknown, and the situation of the injured victims is also unclear.
Through preliminary checks, police said the suspect was not on the list of extremists who needed to be monitored.
