Late afternoon, in a small house at the end of Mai Giang 2 hamlet, Quynh Bang commune (Quynh Luu), the mournful cries of relatives of the unfortunate couple, Mr. Ho Dinh Thi (51 years old) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Vinh (49 years old), echoed. Looking at the two coffins filled with incense smoke, everyone present could not hold back their tears.

Trying to hold back his pain, Mr. Ho Dinh Cong (28 years old), the eldest son of the two victims, choked up as he recounted the incident: At about 12:30 on May 7, I suddenly received the bad news. I rushed to the scene at the intersection of Quynh Xuan ward (Hoang Mai town). I saw my parents' motorbike burned down to only the iron frame.

When I arrived at Quang Khoi General Clinic, I was informed that my parents had passed away before being taken there. According to the doctors, my father had a fractured skull, and my mother had a collapsed rib cage, broken ribs, and a broken leg. Hearing that, I felt as if the world had collapsed.

Early that morning, Mr. Thi and his wife rode their motorbike to their in-laws' house in Quynh Loc ward to attend a death anniversary and visit their grandchild. At around 11:30, they returned home, and when they reached Quynh Xuan intersection, they had a tragic accident. The daughter, after hearing the bad news that her parents had just left the house and had an accident, was in extreme pain and cried like crazy...

At the funeral of his two children, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien (84 years old), Mrs. Vinh’s father, seemed to have lost his soul. His silver hair sat next to the two coffins, occasionally crying: “My children, why did you leave your parents and children without saying goodbye? When you are gone, I will take care of the little children here… wake up, my children…”, the pain of “the silver-haired person sending off the young person” sounded even more painful.
