Tan Ky congress of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 14, the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Tan Ky district held the second congress for the 2015-2020 term with the participation of 103 official delegates representing association members throughout the district.

Attending the event were comrade Dinh Xuan Tu - Chairman of the Provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims.

During the past term, with the attention and direction of the superiors, the Association of Agent Orange Victims of Tan Ky district has focused on innovating the content and methods of operation, taking care of the development of the grassroots association. In 2010, the whole district had only 4 grassroots associations with 27 members, but up to now, 22/22 communes and towns have established associations and put them into operation in an orderly and effective manner, attracting nearly 1,000 members to participate.

Overview of the Congress.

In order to share and help Agent Orange victims, over the past 5 years, the District Association has promoted propaganda and mobilized agencies, businesses, and kind-hearted individuals to donate more than 1.1 billion VND. From this amount, the District Association has given gifts, supported production development, and repaired houses for members in especially difficult circumstances.

In the coming time, Tan Ky district association will continue to do a good job of developing members, strengthen coordination with agencies, departments, branches, and organizations at the district level to promote extensive propaganda work in many forms to help the whole society better understand the activities of the association so that they can join hands to donate to help members to ease the pain of Agent Orange.

The Congress elected 15 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Tan Ky District, term II, 2015 - 2020./.
