In order to supply seedlings for the 2018 spring forest planting season, these days, taking advantage of favorable weather, people in Tan Huong, Nghia Hanh, Ky Son communes (Tan Ky) are focusing on growing forestry seedlings.

According to the plan, more than 400 households working in the nursery business in 3 localities will sell more than 40 million seedlings of all kinds to the market, mainly raw acacia trees.

Recently, people have focused on cultivating acacia cuttings because acacia cuttings give higher productivity; although the investment is higher, the selling price is twice that of acacia seeds, so it is preferred by growers; on the other hand, the tree grows quickly and has large biomass.

Currently, many households in Tan Ky are focusing on planting 1,000 hectares of closed forest in the autumn-winter crop and taking care of 1-3 year old planted forests. The profession of raising raw acacia seedlings is enriching hundreds of Tan Ky households in many communes along the Ho Chi Minh road.
