"We will not be able to overcome Russian aggression in Donbass and Crimea on our own. Therefore, we need your help. I call on our American friends to continue tightening sanctions against Russia," the president said.
Mr Zelensky noted that Washington remains Kiev's main partner "in overcoming Russian aggression".
In addition, the Ukrainian leader thanked foreign colleagues for helping to push through security reforms in the country, and called the United States a "good example" of democracy.
