Quynh Luu District People's Court holds mobile trial in An Hoa commune

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 24, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a mobile trial for two defendants, Pham Van Giang - born in 1979 in block 3, Cau Giat town for the crime of "Illegal possession of drugs" and Ho Dinh Truong - born in 1994 in village 1, An Hoa commune for the crime of "Transporting prohibited goods".

Overview of the trial.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu district, at around 2:00 p.m. on August 16, 2014, Pham Van Giang - born on October 8, 1979, in block 3, Cau Giat town, Quynh Luu district, took a bus from Cau Giat town to Vinh City bus station to buy 1,500,000 VND worth of drugs. After buying the drugs, he returned home and at around 11:00 p.m. the same day, Giang took out the package of drugs to use. Giang divided the remaining drugs into 5 parts and then wrapped them in plastic bags to hide and use gradually. When Pham Van Giang had just divided the package of drugs into 5 parts, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the police force, confiscating 5 small packages containing white crystals in Giang's pants pocket. Based on the conclusion of the appraisal, the white crystal substance seized from Pham Van Giang was a synthetic drug (Methaphetamine), weighing 1.05 grams. With the above criminal act of defendant Pham Van Giang, he violated Clause 1, Article 194 of the Penal Code. Accordingly, the trial panel sentenced defendant Pham Van Giang to 48 months in prison.

Defendant Ho Dinh Truong - guilty of transporting prohibited goods

Also at the trial, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district also tried the defendant Ho Dinh Truong - born on January 2, 1994 in village 1, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district for the crime of "Transporting prohibited goods". According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu district, at about 7:00 p.m. on October 8, 2014, at the intersection of Quynh Bang commune, Ho Dinh Tuong was transporting 11.3 kg of 36-round/cake firecrackers, put in a suitcase on a taxi to deliver to a stranger, when he was checked, discovered and arrested by officers of the Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station, Hoang Mai town. Based on Clause 1, Article 155 of the Penal Code, the above act of Ho Dinh Truong violated the crime of "Transporting prohibited goods". Accordingly, the Trial Council sentenced the defendant Ho Dinh Truong to 6 months in prison.
