Giving 200 Tet gifts to poor households

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 17, Venerable Thich Dinh Tue, abbot of Phuc Thanh Pagoda (Hung Nguyen) in coordination with An Thai Pagoda (Quy Hop) and Toan Thang Company Limited, along with Buddhists of Phuc Thanh Pagoda, visited and gave gifts to 200 poor households of ethnic minorities in the mountainous district of Chau Thanh commune (Quy Hop).

Here, the delegation presented 200 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND to 200 poor households in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of 100 million VND. This is one of the humanitarian and charitable activities periodically organized on the occasion of Lunar New Year by Buddhists of Phuc Thanh Pagoda, headed by Venerable Thich Dinh Tue.

On behalf of the charity group, Venerable Thich Dinh Tue spoke to encourage poor households to strive to overcome difficulties in labor and production, develop the economy, gradually escape poverty, stabilize their lives, and join hands with the community and society to actively protect the social environment, effectively carry out the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" and build the national goal of new rural areas.
