3G fee increase from October 16

The Telecommunications Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) has approved a plan to increase the price of 3G service packages by an average of about 20% for the three network operators with controlling market share: Viettel, MobiFone, and Vinaphone.

This price increase is aimed at gradually bringing the 3G price below the cost price. The Telecommunications Department requires that before increasing service prices, network operators must widely announce so that customers have information and can choose the appropriate package. If customers do not change their package, the network operators will automatically switch to the new adjusted packages. All three network operators have sent text messages to customers informing them of the increase in 3G service fees. The unlimited package will be increased to 70,000 VND/month, an increase of 20,000 VND/month compared to the current price.
