(Baonghean.vn) - As part of the plan to strengthen fire safety inspections at markets, supermarkets, and shopping malls in the province during the Lunar New Year 2015, on the morning of January 14, a working group from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Nghe An inspected fire safety activities at a number of supermarkets and shopping malls in Vinh city.

Intimex and Tran Anh supermarkets – 2 units sharing the same business location on Le Duan Street – Vinh City. Intimex supermarket is located on the 3rd floor with a floor area of ​​about 1500m2, trading in household goods and essential household items; while Tran Anh supermarket uses the 1st and 2nd floors to specialize in electrical appliances with items such as: electricity, electronics, household appliances… This unit leases the premises from Intimex and started opening in December 2014.

The inspection shows that: basically the fire prevention system here is quite fully equipped. However, the arrangement and placement of goods is not scientific; many types of flammable materials are located close to the electrical system and electrical cabinets; the officers and employees in charge of fire prevention are still confused in using and operating fire prevention equipment and means.

Also on January 14, the delegation inspected fire prevention and fighting at Vinh Metro Center. Here, the delegation worked with the Board of Directors and the security department of the unit, checking the records and fire prevention and fighting design diagrams. With the characteristic of being a 100% foreign-owned unit (Germany), Metro's security warning and fire prevention system is considered the best in Nghe An at present. This unit has also invested more than 10 billion VND in fire prevention and fighting.

To better ensure fire prevention and fighting work at the end of the year, especially during the Lunar New Year, the Working Group requested Metro's security department to proactively prepare full fire prevention plans; assign people to be on duty 24/7; regularly inspect, monitor and maintain the fire prevention and fighting system to ensure smooth operation. According to the plan, the Inspection Group of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Police will continue to promote and maintain regular inspection and handling work from now until after the Lunar New Year.
