Strengthening legal education for women

(Baonghean) - We were fortunate to witness a club meeting of the Women's Association of Hamlet 9, Nghi Phuong Commune (Nghi Loc). Looking at the members attentively listening to the lecturer, who is an officer of the District Justice Department, propagating the Party's policies and the State's laws, we can see the thirst for legal knowledge that the people here are looking for.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - Head of the Women's Association of Village 9, Nghi Phuong Commune, wishes: "We, the people, hope that the superior departments and branches will create favorable conditions to strengthen the propaganda work of legal education so that members can have the opportunity to understand the law, create solidarity between the religious and non-religious to promote the movement and better activities of the association."

Disseminate the law through the Happy Family Building Contest in Nghi Phuong (Nghi Loc).

Over the years, the Commune Women's Union has coordinated with departments and organizations at all levels to organize many campaigns to disseminate legal education to members. In order to effectively disseminate legal education, the Executive Committee of the Union regularly innovates and diversifies the forms of activities such as: organizing inter-branch talks in 16 hamlets, integrating propaganda into charity fund cluster activities, hamlet meetings, activities in the form of club activities, and integrating into art competitions.

Here, members are informed of the Party's policies and the State's laws; legal regulations on religious activities; Law on Marriage and Family, Law on Gender Equality, Prevention of Domestic Violence; Law on Anti-Trafficking in Women and Children; Land Law; Law on Traffic Safety, Law on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, Ordinance on Religious Beliefs; life skills education for minors; knowledge and skills to prevent crimes in the family and in society... Through these activities, more than a thousand members have participated. Ms. Thai Thi Hoan in Hamlet 16, Nghi Phuong Commune expressed: "As a citizen, whether religious or not, we must understand the law and live according to the Constitution and laws of the State, first of all to build a warm and happy family and create conditions for children to develop. Then, to keep the village peaceful".

Up to now, the Commune Women's Union has established 16 legal activity groups, with more than 1,400 members participating. In the past 2 years alone, the whole association has coordinated to organize 37 propaganda sessions on legal knowledge. Created dozens of skits and articles with profound legal propaganda content, reflecting many aspects of social life. Coordinated to successfully mediate more than 15 small disputes at the grassroots level. Gradually created for members a way of living and working according to the Constitution and the law, self-protecting their legitimate rights and interests.

However, at present in Nghi Phuong, there are still many women with low awareness and do not fully understand the law, so they have attracted other women to cause trouble, affecting the general movement of the Association. Currently in Nghi Phuong commune, the security and order situation is still complicated, and disputes in the community still exist. This requires strengthening legal education among members. Ms. Dang Thi Huong, President of Nghi Phuong Commune Women's Union, said: "To improve the effectiveness of propaganda and dissemination of legal education to members, we are currently promoting and diversifying forms of propaganda to help women understand the law. Build and replicate typical models of propaganda work. Build legal bookcases, contributing to the effective implementation of emulation movements in the locality."
