Strengthening Vietnam - Thailand press cooperation

The cooperation agreement for the 5-year period 2016 - 2021 between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Thai Press Federation was signed on the morning of November 27, 2015, in Hanoi.

President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Thuan Huu and President of the Federation of Thai Journalists Thepchai Sae Yong have just signed a cooperation agreement between the two organizations with the desire to further strengthen the traditional friendship and mutual understanding, and enhance professional exchanges between journalists of the two countries.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate closely in promoting comprehensive and active information on the economic, political, cultural and social development of Vietnam and Thailand, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

Depending on their capabilities, the two sides will help each other create conditions for Vietnamese journalists based in Bangkok and Thai journalists based in Hanoi, as well as reporters coming to the two countries on separate assignments assigned by the editorial offices, to participate in press activities organized in each country.

The two sides agreed to annually send delegations to exchange journalism skills with each other. In addition, they would exchange information and help each other implement professional training for journalists from both countries to improve the professionalism of journalists. At the same time, they would open pilot programs for professional training and teaching Vietnamese and Thai languages ​​to reporters from both countries (in the near future, delegations could be sent to each country to exchange and study).

In addition, the two sides will consider jointly organizing activities such as seminars, conferences and other activities.

In particular, it will actively participate in the journalism activities of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ), towards building a prosperous, united and developed ASEAN Community.
