Strengthening the connection between banks and businesses in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 14, in Vinh City, Comrade Nguyen Van Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank had a working session with provincial leaders on a number of policies and mechanisms to support socio-economic development.
Receiving and working with the Governor were comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Tran Hong Chau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Departments, branches, representatives of banks with branches in Nghe An.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong reported to the delegation of the State Bank of Vietnam on the socio-economic development situation in Nghe An. Accordingly, the province's GDP growth rate in 2013 reached 7%; the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, industry and services had positive changes; Average income per capita reached 23.57 million VND/year. The entire political system and the people in the province are making efforts to coordinate with enterprises and credit units to promote socio-economic development according to the target of Resolution 26 of the Politburo, making Nghe An a fairly developed province and the socio-economic center of the North Central region.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Governor of the State Bank support and call for investment in socio-economic development projects in Nghe An; requested that the Governor pay attention to directing bank branches in the area to support the province in implementing social security work well, helping the province eliminate makeshift thatched houses, sustainably eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; support Nghe An to promote development into a human resource training center, a medical examination and treatment center of the North Central provinces; expand the Nam Thanh-Bac Nghe Economic Zone; support the development of high-tech industrial parks, and promote investment in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Van Binh acknowledged the development steps of Nghe An in recent years. He emphasized that in the difficult economic conditions of the whole country, Nghe An still maintained a growth rate of 7%, which is a good thing, demonstrating the sustainable development of the province. The Governor also highly agreed with the action program of the province and promised to actively support and help Nghe An develop according to the direction of Resolution 26 of the Politburo, together with the Central ministries and branches. With his role and responsibility, the Governor of the State Bank will strengthen the connection between banks and businesses to promote investment in Nghe An.
