Strengthening environmental communication capacity and skills

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 5, in Cua Lo town, the Environmental Training and Communication Center, the General Department of Environment coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Nghe An to organize a workshop and training course to enhance capacity and environmental communication skills for propagandists in 6 North Central provinces, including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue.

In his welcome speech at the workshop - training, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Ngoc Vo affirmed: environmental communication has a very important position and role in conveying the Party and State's policies and laws on environmental protection to organizations, businesses and people of all walks of life. From there, it aims to raise awareness and understanding of environmental knowledge and legal documents to change the behavior and actions of each organization and individual, contributing to environmental protection. The requirements of environmental communication need to have a variety of communication forms, creating high efficiency in communication work. This is the purpose and goal that this workshop and training aims for.

Director of Training and Communication Center Tran Phong directly disseminated a number of new documents on environmental protection and communication activities.

At the workshop - training, under the communication of Mr. Tran Phong - Director of the Center for Environmental Training and Communication, delegates and trainees learned a number of important and new guidelines, laws and policies related to environmental protection as well as urgent environmental issues currently arising nationwide and in each locality. Especially the Law on Environmental Protection 2014, which focuses on environmental protection principles: environmental protection is the responsibility of all levels, sectors, organizations and each citizen; this is also a regular task that needs to be prioritized for implementation. Environmental protection activities are encouraged such as reducing waste, collecting and recycling waste; building environmentally friendly hamlets, blocks and villages; organizing self-management models on environmental protection; and prohibited acts.

Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and unions of 6 provinces in the North Central region participated in the workshop and training.

During the 2 days of August 5 and 6, delegates and students will also learn some experiences of communication activities; the role of environmental communication activities - a tool in environmental management to adjust the awareness and behavior of each organization and individual to protect the environment most effectively. In addition, delegates and students will also learn, organize discussions and exchange more public presentation skills; skills of propagating and disseminating laws; skills of collecting and processing information to write news and articles posted on mass media...
