Strengthening coordination in educating juvenile prisoners

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 27, the Youth Union of Nghe An province and Prison No. 3 (General Department 8 - Ministry of Public Security) held a conference to review the plan to coordinate the education of young prisoners and help them reintegrate into the community in the period 2013 - 2015; and signed a coordination plan for the period 2015 - 2020.

After 3 years of implementation, the coordination program has been effectively implemented by the Provincial Youth Union and Prison No. 3. The club models "Group of friends helping friends", "Lighting up faith", "Youth living positively" have been maintained, helping hundreds of slow-progressing youth, post-reform youth, and reformed youth have the opportunity to reintegrate into the community, have a stable life, and actively participate in the work of the Union and youth movements in the locality.

Activities of consultation, legal aid, civic education, improvement of life skills and values ​​for young people who have completed their prison terms and are reintegrating into the community in localities have also been of interest to all parties. The Provincial Youth Union and Prison No. 3 have coordinated to organize the program "Lighting up dreams for a brighter tomorrow" for more than 2,000 prisoners; directed the Young Doctors Club of the province and Tan Ky district to participate in health consultation, medical examination and treatment and free medicine distribution for 150 prisoners at Prison No. 3; coordinated with businesses and vocational training centers to receive progressive young people after reformation to work in factories and enterprises...

At the conference, the Provincial Youth Union and Prison No. 3 signed a Plan to coordinate the education of young prisoners and help them reintegrate into the community for the period 2015 - 2020.

On this occasion, 1 collective and 6 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Director General of General Department 8 - Ministry of Public Security for their outstanding achievements in coordinating the education of young prisoners in the period 2013-2015.
