Strengthening coordination between Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee and border and coastal districts and towns

On the afternoon of November 25, in Thanh Chuong district, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee held a conference to review the implementation of the Coordination Regulations between the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and border and coastal districts and towns in 2019.

In 2019, the Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee coordinated with border and coastal districts and towns to lead, direct, and seriously and effectively implement directives, resolutions, projects, and plans of superiors and of its own level.

Districts and towns have coordinated to effectively organize and implement activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the People's Border Defense Day and the 60th anniversary of the Border Defense Force's Traditional Day; paid attention to and helped Border Defense Force units in terms of material and spiritual resources, creating favorable conditions for officers and soldiers to excellently complete the task of protecting national sovereignty and border security.

Well implementing border diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy on both sides of the border; building political bases, developing economy, culture and society, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, strengthening national defense and security, search and rescue, and preventing natural disasters have been given attention and actively and effectively directed.

Specifically, since the beginning of the year, mountain units have coordinated with all levels, sectors, forces, and local authorities to organize patrols and control 608 times/4,456 participants; coastal units have conducted 102 times/738 participants.

In particular, effectively implementing the peak period of fighting against drug crimes on land borders and fighting against smuggling and trade fraud on sea borders, 398 cases/973 subjects/177 vehicles were detected and handled, administrative violations were fined over 814 million VND.

Of which, 20 special cases were successfully fought, 22 subjects were arrested; evidence was seized including 38 heroin cakes, 172,750 synthetic drug pills, 38 kg of synthetic drugs in the form of rocks, 01 kg of opium, 01 kg of Ketamine, 45 kg of explosives, 172 detonators, 01 grenade, 01 gun, 05 bullets and many other related evidence.

In their speeches at the conference, delegates highlighted the results achieved and proposed solutions and directions to overcome existing limitations in the coming time so that coordination work can be increasingly more effective.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Duc Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the effective coordination between the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the border and coastal districts and towns. This effective coordination has created a combined strength to protect the sovereignty and security of the border in the province, contributing to the Party Committee, government and people of the province to complete the socio-economic targets in 2019.

Regarding the tasks in 2020, which is the year of organizing party congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Party Congress, along with many important events of the country, districts, towns and the provincial Border Guard force need to continue to uphold their responsibilities, proactively grasp information on the activities of hostile forces, subjects violating border security, and law violations to detect, advise and propose timely solutions to combat.

Coordinate well in the work of party building, political system building; pay attention to building the locality, do a good job in natural disaster prevention, rescue, and new rural construction.
