Strengthening cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party
On February 18, in Hanoi, a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party took place, co-chaired by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President of the CPP, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen.
This is an important event to further strengthen the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability between the two Parties, two States and people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

At the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and CPP Chairman, Prime Minister Hun Sen informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country, assessed the world and regional situation; the results of cooperation between the two Parties and countries in the past and the direction of cooperation in the coming time. The two sides continued to affirm the historical tradition of solidarity, close-knit relations, and mutual assistance between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as between the three countries of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos as an invaluable asset, one of the most important factors and the greatest source of strength for the cause of national liberation, independence protection, construction and development of each country.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the increasingly deep and extensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples in all fields, including continued strengthening of political relations, effective promotion of defense and security cooperation, and positive changes in economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological cooperation. The two leaders congratulated the important and comprehensive achievements that the people of the two countries have made in the cause of national construction and development.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized the importance and strategic significance of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship for the security and development of each country, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Agreeing with the opinions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of the CPP, Prime Minister Hun Sen affirmed that along with consolidating and developing political relations, the two sides need to enhance economic and trade cooperation to serve the development of each country.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the results of cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture, education, science - technology, defense - security, and proposed a number of specific cooperation directions between the two countries in the coming time.

The two sides also agreed to promote cooperation between agencies of the Party, National Assembly, ministries, branches of the Government, the Fatherland Front, people's organizations and localities of the two countries./.
