Strengthening management of licensing, exploitation and processing of minerals

Before working with the district, the Secretary and the delegation visited Ban Cong Cultural Village, An Thai Company Limited (Chau Hong Commune); Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Company Limited (in Quy Hop Town).

Implementing the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, the Party Committee of Quy Hop district has issued many resolutions, developed action programs, concretized goals and effectively implemented the resolutions of the Party at all levels. In 2011, the district's GDP growth rate reached 12%, the economic structure gradually shifted to industry, basic construction and services. Budget revenue reached 140 billion VND, in the first quarter of 2012, it was 48 billion VND. The poverty rate decreased to nearly 26%.
Currently, Quy Hop has 150 mineral exploitation enterprises, of which 138 are operating. However, exploitation activities associated with environmental protection still have many complicated factors. In 2011 and the first quarter of 2012, the District People's Committee handled 56 violations with a total fine of nearly 455 million VND.
Concluding the working session, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the district to thoroughly implement the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (11th Term), focusing on self-criticism and criticism; implementing the principle of democratic centralism well; strengthening solidarity, eliminating localism and factionalism; taking care of planning, training and fostering cadres from the district to the village level. Strengthening the management of licensing and mineral exploitation, including: strictly handling illegal mineral exploitation activities, causing environmental pollution, loss of agricultural land, not returning land after exploitation; handling violations in land lease, tax arrears, labor safety, overloaded transportation, urgently planning mineral processing industrial zones.
