Strengthening government management of gardening associations
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 30, in Vinh City, the Provincial Gardening Association held a workshop on strengthening the leadership of the Party, management and support of the local government for the comprehensive development of the Gardening Association.
Up to now, after 4 congresses, the organization of the Gardening Association at all levels has been consolidated and strengthened. The branches are present in 20/20 districts, cities, towns, 387/476 communes, wards and 2,380 residential areas, with over 60,000 members. The Provincial Gardening Association at all levels has built over 1,000 VAC models, renovated over 26,000 mixed gardens, built over 4,600 new gardens, renovated 7,600 hectares of ponds and lakes, built 3,500 hectares of new water surface, 14,000 livestock barns, and 236 households have developed specialty livestock farming. In particular, the Association at all levels has built over 32,000 nutritional VAC gardens and donated 137 VAC gardens of gratitude to policy families. These results have contributed to the overall socio-economic development of the province, bringing the proportion of VAC economy to 60-70% of total household economic income.

At the workshop, the opinions of the association leaders in Anh Son, Thanh Chuong, Nghia Dan, Que Phong, Tan Ky showed that the activities of the Gardening Association still face many difficulties in mobilizing resources, conditions, and means for activities. In particular, the State management work in some places is still lax. The legal system has not kept up with the development of mass associations. Some associations operate in a formal and ineffective manner. Voluntariness, self-management, and self-financing have not been thoroughly implemented.
In the coming time, implementing Directive 42 CT-TU and Directive No. 18/2012/Tg-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Gardening Association will continue to effectively build many VAC models and take better care of household economic life. Gardening Associations at all levels hope to receive attention through specific directives from the Party Committee and Government at all levels in supporting and creating conditions for the Association and its members to operate better. All levels and sectors need to strengthen management and guidance on transferring public services to Association organizations to undertake according to their capabilities.
