Strengthening management of use and publication of textbooks and reference books
(Baonghean.vn) -Currently, textbooks and supplementary books for students of all levels are widely sold on the market. However, many of them are of poor quality and have not been evaluated by competent professional agencies.
To ensure the rights of students and teachers, Nghe An Department of Education and Training has issued a document directing the management, use and distribution of textbooks for the 2013-2014 school year.
Accordingly, the Department has announced a list of textbooks, supplementary books, and optional materials for students and teachers in the 2013-2014 school year. For books for students, at the primary level there are 36 textbooks and 78 supplementary books; at the secondary level there are 70 textbooks and 81 supplementary books; at the high school level there are 93 textbooks, 73 supplementary books, and 55 optional materials.
Nghe An Book and School Equipment Joint Stock Company has prepared 1.7 million books for the new school year.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training assigned educational management agencies and schools in the province to coordinate with Nghe An Book and School Equipment Joint Stock Company in supplying and distributing books and materials to meet the needs of students and teachers; not allowing students and teachers to buy books and materials of poor quality, incorrect content or overloading the curriculum. The Department also stipulates that "educational institutions and teachers are not allowed to introduce or request students and parents to buy reference books for use in schools without appraisal and permission from specialized management agencies".
