Strengthening management and recovery of weapons and explosives

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 23, 2014, Nghe An Provincial Police held a conference to review 3 years of implementing the ordinance on management and recovery of weapons, explosives, and support tools. Representative of the C64 Department of the Ministry of Public Security, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee attended the conference.

Over the past 3 years of implementing Decree No. 16 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, all sectors and levels have coordinated well in propagating, disseminating and educating the law, raising awareness and sense of law compliance of officials and people regarding the management, use and recovery of weapons, explosives and supporting tools.

The police force has mobilized, inspected, and recovered thousands of weapons, explosives, and support tools that were still floating around and illegally stored among the people, contributing to limiting the causes and conditions for criminals to take advantage of their activities. After being recovered, military weapons and explosives were classified and processed in accordance with the law, ensuring absolute safety for officers and people.

In addition to the achieved results, currently, the situation of violations of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools is still complicated; there are still weapons, explosives, and supporting tools floating among the people; some cases of criminals using them to commit crimes, causing serious consequences; the situation of buying, selling, storing, and using explosives for the purpose of exploiting resources, minerals, and fishing still occurs. Therefore, the functional forces in the area need to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to voluntarily hand over illegal weapons.

At the conference, delegates agreed to continue to launch a peak campaign to collect weapons, explosives, and support tools according to the telegram of the Provincial People's Committee before, during, and after the 2015 Lunar New Year.

Provincial People's Committee leaders awarded Certificates of Merit to outstanding collectives and individuals.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Department C64 of the Ministry of Public Security and Nghe An Provincial Police awarded 10 Certificates of Merit and 22 Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements after 3 years of implementing the ordinance./.
