(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 14, the Central Public Security Party Committee had a working session with provincial leaders to listen to the results of 3 years of implementing Directive No. 18 - CT/TW dated September 4, 2012 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring order and safety of road, railway, inland waterway traffic and overcoming traffic congestion".

Lieutenant General To Thuong - Member of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Director General, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee chaired the meeting. Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee; Nguyen Hong Ky - Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Immediately after the issuance of Directive 18 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, the Provincial Party Standing Committee organized to disseminate the content of the Directive to the Party Executive Committee, Party Committees of districts, cities, towns, affiliated Party Committees, departments, branches, provincial Fatherland Front organizations and all Party members to understand and implement. At the same time, Directive 12 - CT/TU dated January 9, 2013 on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic order and safety" directed Party committees, authorities at all levels, and functional branches to synchronously deploy solutions to ensure traffic order and safety in the province.

Focus on training, testing, granting driving licenses, professional certificates and vehicle quality inspection...

Thanks to that, the traffic order and safety situation in the area has had many positive changes, the role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in ensuring traffic order and safety have been enhanced, and people's awareness of law enforcement has gradually increased. Since 2003, traffic accidents have continuously decreased in all three criteria. Nghe An is one of the localities recognized and highly appreciated by the Government and the National Traffic Safety Committee.

Comrade Le Quoc Hong - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee emphasized that in recent times, Vinh City has deployed traffic safety measures to wards and communes and assigned the Party cell secretaries to directly deploy them at Party cell meetings, taking the content of Directive 18 as a regular activity.

Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police Department said that traffic participants must understand the Law on traffic order and safety, and must fully understand the difficulties and hardships of the police in handling and arresting criminals who violate traffic order and safety.

After listening to the comments at the meeting, Lieutenant General To Thuong - General Director acknowledged the achievements of Nghe An after 3 years of implementing the Directive, however, the situation of violations of traffic safety laws still occurs a lot, although traffic accidents have decreased, there are still some cases with particularly serious consequences. State management of traffic safety is still inadequate. Propaganda work has received attention but has not yet met the requirements, people's awareness of traffic participation is not high. He requested that in the coming time, Nghe An needs to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws to the people with many rich and appropriate forms. Further strengthen the leadership of the Party in implementing Directive 18 CT / TW in a drastic and effective manner.
