Thong Nhat train ticket prices increase during peak summer season

To accommodate the operation of the Thong Nhat passenger train to serve passengers traveling by train during the Summer of 2012, Vietnam Railways Corporation has issued new passenger fares applicable on Thong Nhat passenger trains.

Applicable period from May 15 to September 4. Ticket price for hard seat without air conditioning on TN1/2 train remains the same as current.

Train ticket price for SE3/4 Hanoi-Saigon, hard seat will be 798,000 VND, hard seat with air conditioning is 1,110,000 VND; soft seat with air conditioning is 925,000 VND, soft seat with air conditioning is 1,210,000 VND. At the same time, the highest ticket price applied for 4-bed sleeper compartment is 1,990,000 VND (1st floor), 1,966,000 VND (2nd floor).

For trains SE1/2. SE 7/8 Hanoi-Saigon and vice versa, the ticket price is somewhat lower, but the lowest price for a hard seat is 782,000 VND; and the highest price is a 1st floor sleeper ticket in a 4-seat compartment with air conditioning, priced at 1,857,000 VND...

Despite the increase in ticket prices during peak seasons, Vietnam Railways Corporation will still apply ticket exemptions and discounts for social policy beneficiaries according to current regulations.

The representative of the Corporation also emphasized that during this time, there will be no group ticket discount; the deduction for returned and exchanged tickets is 20%.

In addition, Vietnam Railways will not provide seats for railway staff and their relatives to travel or vacation. In cases other than travel and vacation, the train pass can be used, but the heads of units must be responsible for reviewing and issuing the train pass, and must also be responsible if the train pass is found to be for the wrong subject or purpose./.
