Awarding "Medal of Courage" to village captain Tran Ba Cong
(Baonghean.vn) - The President has just issued Decision No. 2368/QD-CTN on posthumously awarding the "Medal of Courage" to Mr. Tran Ba Cong - village captain of hamlet 5, Military Command of Bao Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province "For his brave actions while participating in fire fighting at high point 41 in hamlet 2, Bao Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province".

Also on this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 127/QD-NCC on granting "martyr family certificates and preferential allowances"; and at the same time awarded the Prime Minister's "Fatherland's Gratitude" certificate to martyr Tran Ba Cong, who sacrificed for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Previously, at around 1pm on May 25, 2014, a pine forest fire broke out in Hamlet 2, Bao Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District. Upon receiving the news, thousands of people, including militia, commune police and local residents, went to put out the fire. At around 3pm on the same day, the fire was extinguished. After participating in putting out the fire, on the way home, Mr. Tran Ba Cong (born in 1973), residing in Hamlet 5, Bao Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, suddenly fainted and fell on the road. Some passersby performed first aid but Mr. Cong died. The cause of death was determined to be exhaustion from participating in fighting the forest fire.
As planned, the ceremony to posthumously award the "Medal of Courage" and the "Fatherland's Gratitude" certificate to Mr. Tran Ba Cong will take place on December 19, at the People's Committee of Bao Thanh commune.
