Car registration fee increase from October 15, 2011
The Ministry of Finance has just issued a circular on registration fees, according to which the registration fee for passenger cars with less than 10 seats (including the driver) will be increased by 10-20%, the specific applicable level will be decided by the People's Council of the province or centrally-run city.
Registration fee for houses and land is set at 0.5%; for ships, barges, canoes, tugboats, push boats, boats, yachts, and airplanes is 1%. Registration fee for motorbikes is from 1-5%.
Subjects not required to pay registration fees include: land used for public purposes according to the provisions of law; land for investment in infrastructure construction regardless of whether the land is inside or outside industrial parks or export processing zones; land allocated or recognized by the State for use in agricultural, forestry, aquaculture and salt production purposes; agricultural land with land use rights transferred between households and individuals according to the policy of "land consolidation and plot exchange".
In particular, real estate compensated by the State; real estate inherited or given as gifts between husband and wife, father, mother and child, siblings... when granted a land use right certificate, do not have to pay registration fees...
This Circular takes effect from October 15, 2011.
