(Baonghean.vn) - On January 5, a working group led by the Nghe An Red Cross Society visited Muong Ai commune, Ky Son district to present gifts to students, the poor and disabled children in the area. Accompanying the group were representatives of the Vinamik Milk Factory in Nghe An, Thanh Ngoc Tuynel Brick Factory (Thanh Chuong), and Hai Ha An Binh Company Limited (Dien Chau), who are benefactors and co-sponsors.
The total value of gifts is 110 million VND, including 480 warm school uniforms, 72 warm blankets, 71 boxes of instant noodles, 2 wheelchairs, 50 boxes of milk, 5 boxes of candy and 2 million VND in cash. Of which, 480 warm uniforms, milk and candy were given to students of the Kindergarten and Primary School; 72 warm clothes, instant noodles and warm blankets were given to lonely elderly people in Muong Ai commune.

Muong Ai is a highland border commune, about 50 km west of Muong Xen town, Ky Son district. The whole commune has 420 households living in 9 villages, including 3 ethnic groups: Thai, Mong and Kho Mu.
Despite the investment support from the state, people's lives are still difficult, the poverty rate accounts for 67% of households. The commune has 2 kindergartens and primary schools, but there are 7 separate schools in 7 villages, so investing in upgrading facilities is still very difficult.
